The Studio
Porcelain was founded in Paddington on one conviction: that the most-used room in a home deserves the same considered attention as the most-seen room. We work with a small number of Sydney clients each year — never more than six projects at once — so that every material choice, every junction, every light fitting receives the time it warrants.
Our work spans inner-east terraces and waterfront homes, ensuite refreshes and whole-floor bathroom suites. What does not change is how we work: in close collaboration, with a single point of contact from briefing to final walkthrough.
What we do

Vanities, shaving cabinets, and linen towers designed and built to the room. Painted, oiled, or raw-lacquered — made in Sydney.

Access to local and European stone merchants, oversized-format porcelain, handmade terracotta, and reclaimed stone — each project sourced to brief.

Smaller rooms demand sharper decisions. We specialise in the ensuite and powder room where every centimetre and material choice carries weight.

Full design service: floor plan, elevation, material board, trade schedule, and on-site supervision. One contact from concept to completion.

Re-tile, re-grout, vanity swap, or lighting upgrade — for the bathroom that is mostly right but not quite. Smaller scope, same rigour.
How we work
Most bathroom renovations fail in the planning stage — not the trade stage. Our process front-loads the difficult decisions so that the build itself runs smoothly and on time. We take a maximum of six projects per year so that every client receives our full attention.
Initial conversation

Site visit & brief
We visit the space, measure, photograph, and ask the questions your previous builder did not. A written brief follows within the week.
Design & materials
Floor plans, elevations, and a curated material board. We walk you through every selection before a single tile is ordered.
The build
Porcelain co-ordinates all trades — waterproofing, plumbing, tiling, joinery, electrical. Weekly updates; site always clean.
Final walkthrough
A joint inspection before we consider the project closed. Any snagging items resolved within five business days. Guaranteed.
